Vectrix is planning to introduce a ‘revolutionary’ electric maxi-scooter into the UK motorcycle market. With a top speed of 62mph and a two-hour recharge of its Nickel Metal Hydride battery pack and an operating range of up to 68 miles, the Vectrix maxi-scooter is described as the first truly practical alternative to petrol-driven motorcycles and scooters. The scooter delivers acceleration from zero to 50 mph in under 7 seconds.

During braking, energy is redirected back into the battery pack, helping to extend the Vectrix maxi-scooter's range by up to 12%. The Vectrix has an estimated battery life of 10 years, based on 5,000 miles per year.
