Arizona Community Bans Motorized Scooters

Golf carts and power scooters for the disabled are not affected by ban with prohibits 'toy' motorized scooters from all public roadways, sidewalks, trails and other public rights-of-way.

Motorized skateboards and other motorized play vehicles are prohibited in town except on private property by an ordinance passed Monday by the Town Council. 

The ordinance bans these vehicles from all public roadways, sidewalks, trails and other public rights-of-way.

Police Chief Robert Ingulli said the department has received numerous calls about these machines, and "most calls are about the safety of the children riding them."
