REVA to Debut Next Generation Electric Car

Indian electric car company's new prototype will demonstrate extended range and speed as compared to the current model that has a top speed of 60 kilometers per hour and a range of 80 kilometers.

Bangalore, March 17, 2005 - REVA, India’s first and only electric car, will launch its next generation EV at the Electric Vehicle Symposium being held in Monaco from April 2-6, 2005.

The new prototype will demonstrate extended range and speed as compared to the current model that has a top speed of 60 kilometers per hour and a range of 80 kilometers. The EEC-certified REVA is currently available in India as well as the U.K., Malta, Japan, Romania, Switzerland, Norway, and Ireland.

Mr. Chetan Maini, Deputy Chairman of Reva Electric Car Company (RECC) will announce the launch of the new prototype at the symposium as well participate in a rally being organized by EVS 21.

Mr. Kapil Sibal, India’s Union Minister for Science & Technology and Ocean Development, will attend the Electric Vehicle Symposium 21 to launch this technology marvel and stress on the role governments can play in promoting EV technology globally.
