Travolta's New Film Makes Hybrid Cars 'Cool'

Honda Insight plays role in 'Be Cool' and is called Cadillac of gas-electric hybrid cars.

Chili Palmer traded in his beloved Cadillacs for that most sensible of family vehicles, the minivan, in 1995's crime romp "Get Shorty."

In the sequel "Be Cool," opening Friday, Chili is again yanked from behind the wheel of his Caddy. This time he's stuck into a tiny environmentally sensible hybrid car.

John Travolta, who reprises his role as Chili, says he found the gas-electric hybrid an intriguing vehicle, despite his passion for classics such as the 1957 Ford Thunderbird that co-star Uma Thurman gets to drive.


Playing catch-up a decade late, the world's auto giants now find that they have to lease or buy technology from Toyota.
