Online insurer savings could mean potential savings up to 100 Pounds Sterling

To encourage people to think about the environment, leading insurer is lowering the recommended ABI insurance group on the Prius to make sure it is cheaper to insure. will insure the Prius Hybrid T Spirit and Hybrid Auto at insurance group 7 instead of group 8 and the Hybrid T3 and T4 at group 6 instead of group 7, which could mean a potential saving of up to £100.

According to Toyota, the Prius is revolutionary as a result of its Hybrid Synergy Drive system which combines an electric motor and a petrol engine, and is part of Toyota's effort to create the ultimate eco car. This technology has now been recognised across Europe as the Prius has been voted Car of the Year 2005. is the UK's first wholly on-line car insurance service.
