General Motors Corp.'s vision of the future doesn't fire on all cylinders.

Instead, it's electric charged and full of steam.

Electric-gasoline hybrid vehicles and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles that emit only water vapor are the future, Larry Burns, GM's vice president of research and development, said at the North American International Auto show in Detroit earlier this week.
