US electric vehicle specialist ZAP and its fuel cell partner Anuvu Inc. have announced the availability later this year of the first hydrogen fuel cell consumer vehicle, on display this week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

ZAP unveiled the hydrogen fuel cell powered Nissan Frontier crew cab pickup as well as a new lithium battery technology at the Consumer Electronics Show. The truck incorporates a generator providing a standard 120-volt AC source for powering external machinery and appliances, from power tools to a whole campsite.

"We believe this to be the first time a fuel cell vehicle has been offered for sale to the public," said Craig Newhouse, Anuvu's National Sales Director.
