Published: 14-Apr-2001

On behalf of Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge, the departments of Environmental Protection and Transportation will be joined by the Public Utility Commission, Penn State University and the Energy Resources Alternative Power Co. (ERA) of Topton, Berks County, at noon on Monday, April 16, in Harrisburg for a demonstration of a new technology for electric generation from vehicles. The demonstration will take place on Commonwealth Avenue in front of the War Veterans Memorial Fountain on the Capitol East Wing Plaza.

The technology, developed by ERA, will be demonstrated on a propane-fueled hybrid electric Ford Escort. It allows a vehicle, in addition to providing transportation, to generate the electricity for a home or business.
