Hybrid-Electric Trolleys A Bigger Hit Than Expected
The trolleys came to town 100 days ago.
At first, they'd roll around Ponce De Leon Boulevard and Miracle Mile, mostly empty, while people got used to the idea of hopping on the curious contraptions for their downtown-area roamings.
Today, the trolleys are the preferred mode of transportation for at least these groups: those who commute to work in Coral Gables on the Metrorail; students at Gables High; and hundreds who work downtown and want to grab a quick bite on Miracle Mile without having to hunt 20 minutes for parking.
