Sometimes it pays to have a neighbor in the fuel business.

Acme Fuel Co. owner Tom Allen has set up the South Sound's first commercial biodiesel fuel pumps for the motoring public, thanks in part to some prodding from his Olympia neighbors George and Karen Bray.

The Brays own a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta, purchased with the intention of burning 100 percent biodiesel fuel, the vegetable-based alternative fuel that curbs toxic air emissions associated with petroleum-based diesel.
