Restored Yellowstone Tour Bus Powered by Alternative Fuels
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. – The future of travel in the park is coming in an old package.
A prototype of a “new” yellow bus was unveiled Monday during the Roosevelt Arch celebration. The low-emission bus, which is eventually expected to run on alternative fuels, is intended as a modernized version of the traditional yellow buses that used to tour the park.
The bus is part of a joint project between the U.S. Department of Energy’s Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory, the National Park Service, the U.S. Department of Transportation and private industry.
