Florida Keys Residents Turning to EVs

Marathon, Florida company now selling NEVs to locals

With gasoline prices spiking again, a company has now made it possible for Middle Keys residents to buy a fully electric car, right in Marathon.

D & M Mobile Golf Carts of the Keys, owned by Don and Mark Weston, recently opened a sales office and repair facility at 6677 Overseas Highway, next to Taco Bell. The company used to be based in Layton.

Until now, people wanting to buy electric cars had to travel to Key West or the mainland to get them. D & M, which up to now has offered mobile golf-cart sales and repair only, has begun selling what is known as a Neighborhood Electric Vehicle, in this case manufactured by Streetrod Productions.
