Porsche's 'Better Than Tesla' Concept EV

From EV World's perspective, we thrilled that so many carmakers are starting to take Tesla and EVs seriously and the Mission E is the perfect example of what competition can produce.

If Porsche's engineers can actually pull-off what they claim their Mission E electric-concept car will be capable of in the not-too-far-off future, then Tesla might just have something to worry about, at least in the pricey foreign luxury sportscar market.

Consider these specs: 0-to-100 kilometers per hour (62 mph) in 3.5 seconds - one second slower than Renovo's electric Shelby Daytona. A range up to 500 km (310 miles) and a 15 minute recharge time to 80 percent SOC. That's gives it four miles greater range than Tesla's Model S and half the recharge time.

Of course, for now this is all the automotive equivalent of 'vaporware.' Porsche admits the car could be five years off and such advances depend on battery technology; and can be pretty sure Tesla has no intention of resting on its laurels.

Still, the Mission E certainly is one great looking automobile.
