Audi Aims to Debut Model-X Competitor

After much delay, Tesla is slated to begin Model X deliveries in a few weeks, but breathing down their neck is Audi with its own take on the electric SUV

Published: 29-Aug-2015

'Net journalists like to talk about 'Tesla killers' and 'Musk mashers.' The latest being this drawing of a proposed future all-electric SUV from Audi.

Despite its blunt grill, box-like profile, and flat-cabin, Audi says it will have some of the best aerodynamics of its class and a range up to 300+ miles, which could, in fact, challenge Tesla's Model X SUV. Reportedly, it will be sized between the Q5 and Q7, though it will seat only four. Beyond these claims, Audi isn't saying much about the car other than it could see production by 2018 and that it is slated to debut during this year's Frankfurt Auto Show this Fall in Germany.
