Team Mugen Sets New E-Cycle Record on Isle of Man

John McGuiness set a new lap record during this year's running of the TT Zero electric motorcycle race on the Isle of Man: 119.297 mph.

Those damned bikes are getting faster every year!

And the team setting the pace is Team Mugen and their lead rider, John McGuinness. Last year's photo caption read "John McGuinness sets new track record of 115.4 mph". That's old news! He bested that by nearly another 4 mph, race winning time lap speed of 119.297 mph. The fastest gas bikes were only about 10 mph quicker at 130.

Mugen took the top two positions with teammate Bruce Anstey coming in second with an average speed over the winding 37 mile road course of 118.857 mph. Third place went to Lee Johnston riding first year entrant Victory/Parker Racing at 111.620 mph. That machine is pictured below.
