Delayed for 24-months, the Model X crossover should begin deliveries within the next 3 to 4 months.

Published: 12-Jun-2015

According to Tesla Motor's CEO and Product Architect Elon Musk, as of 2015, the 12-year-old electric car manufacturer has reservations for as many as 20,000 of its Model X crossover, its next model. Delayed some 24-months due to technical issues, including its innovative, but highly complex 'hawk wing' rear doors, the company is now expecting to begin deliveries in the next 3-4 months, Musk revealed at the annual shareholder meeting: video below.

In addition to the announced delivery date, the company also announced that it would begin allowing customers, on a limited experimental basis later this month, to begin testing its autonomous driving system, which not only allows the car to drive itself on the highway, but for the driver to summons the car from its parking place.

Below is the video of the most recent shareholder meeting.
