Kia Plans No. American Launch of Soul EV Third Quarter of 2014

Sales of 27kWh electric car initially will be limited to US coastal states: California and Oregon, New York, Jew Jersey and Maryland.

CHICAGO -- Kia Motors revealed an electric version of the boxy Soul subcompact at the Chicago Auto Show today.

The Soul EV will be Kia's first zero-emission vehicle sold in the United States when it arrives in select markets in the third quarter.

Sales will be limited to California and Oregon, in addition to some eastern states with EV-charging stations, including New York, New Jersey and Maryland, the company said in a statement.


Kia Ray EV will be replaced by Kia Soul EV.

Kia says it will sell the Soul EV will be sold globally and will expected to have a range of 200 km and top speed of 140 km/h
