Private electric taxi hire firm Thriev will add 20 new electric cars from Chinese electric car maker BYD to its fleet in February.

London-based Thriev will use BYD’s e6 cars to chauffeur corporate and private users around the capital as the company rolls out an electric car programme complete with its own rapid chargers, cars and charger scheduling systems.

BYD’s e6 is a five-seat crossover electric vehicle, which can deliver around 186 miles per charge with a top speed of 87mph. They use BYD’s lithium iron Fe batteries, which have been tested over millions of miles of taxi and bus passenger-carrying service in China.
