Technology Stocks Poised For Rebound
TORONTO, Jan 2 (Reuters) - Toronto stocks were poised for a strong start on Tuesday as investors were expected to flock to beaten-down technology stocks now that tax-loss selling was over.
"Seasonally, this should be a strong week. We ended Friday on a positive note, tax loss selling is not only over but the people who sold to offset gains are now likely to be back in the market to buy," said Katherine Beattie, an analyst at Standard & Poor's MMS in Toronto.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's 300 composite index <.TSE> ended Friday 0.65 percent higher from Thursday's close at 8933.68. It ended up more than 6 percent for the year.
