Ford Hybrid Sales For January On Track to Set Record

Sales of an estimated 5,500 Fusion Hybrids will represent one-quarter of the 21,000-plus sales of all Fusion models, also a new January sales record for Ford.

Ford Motor Co.'s electrified vehicles will help boost its January auto sales, an early indicator of what could be a record-setting year for the Dearborn automaker's growing hybrid and electric lineup.

Led by the new Fusion Hybrid midsize sedan, Ford said it expects to report sales of at least 5,500 hybrids for January, which would shatter the company's sales record for the month.

Sales of the Fusion Hybrid will comprise a chunk of the projected 21,000-plus sales of all Fusion models, which will also set a new January sales record for the automaker.


Ford Focus Electric lists for $39,995.

EPA rates the Focus Electric at 99 mpg equivalent in highway driving and 110 mpg equivalent in city driving.

2012 Ford Fusion will have $295 automatic stop-start feature to save fuel.

Fusion's Auto Start-Stop option will help drivers save as much as $1,100 over five years at today's fuel prices, Ford announces.
