Infiniti to Introduce All-Electric LE in 2014
Look, ma. No cord. Infiniti says it's going to offer a plug-in electric car, the LE, that you don't have have to plug in.
Nissan's luxury brand just became the first to set a date when it is going to offer the next breakthrough in electrics, cordless charging.
Cordless charging will work like this: Just drive into your garage and park over a plate on the floor. Your Infiniti LE, the electric car it is bringing to dealers in 2014, will charge automatically. You don't have to remember to plug in cables to recharge it, although you would still have the option to make sure you can use public charging stations. And, of course, you never have to visit a gas station.
Infiniti officials made the announcement at Pebble Beach, near Carmel, Calif., site of the Concours d'Elegance tomorrow, where it is also showing off a new plug-in electric concept, the Emerg-e.
