BRD Redshift MX Electric Motocross Debuts
San Francisco, CA – After extensive testing, BRD is pleased to announce that the 2013 RedShift MX electric motocrosser will be unveiled at the 2012 Powersports Dealer Expo in Indianapolis, February 17-19. The RedShift MX shares the 40hp, 5.2kWh drivetrain and monocoque aluminum chassis with the RedShift SM that was unveiled in San Francisco in August of 2011. At 250lbs in a full size race-ready chassis, the RedShift line is the most power- and energy-dense electric motorcycle planned for production. BRD differs from most electric offerings to date in that the RedShift is designed to be directly competitive with the best and fastest gas-powered equivalents.
According to CEO, Marc Fenigstein, “our goal has always been to just build a faster motorcycle than the gas race bikes we own and love. We believe electric is a valid approach to performance, and so far our testing has shown that we are on track to achieving our goals.”
Fenigstein continues, “there are some nice side benefits to electric as well, namely the extremely long maintenance cycles [200 hours/10,000 miles] and street legality for a race bike [with optional lighting and switchgear].”
All RedShift models can be configured to be 50-State street legal. See attached graphic for complete specifications. BRD is currently taking deposits via their website (www.faster-faster.com/bikes) on their limited 2013 production of only 1,000 units.
For the Dealer Expo at the Indiana Convention Center, BRD Motorcycles will be located at Booth 5568 in the Vehicles Concourse. A digital press kit, including the latest video of the 2013 RedShift SM under stunt rider Ryan Moore (50stunt.com) will be available on site.
