Carolina Residents Line Up to Inspect Chevrolet Volt

Currently, there are more than 25 New Canaan, NC residents waiting for the delivery of the car, which could take up to six months.

In addition to charging up cell phones, iPods and laptops, residents will soon have the option to charge their car.

The 2011 Chevy Volt, the world’s first Extended Range Electric Vehicle, was officially released before the end of the year and New Canaan residents have already been clamoring to get their hands on it.

At Karl Chevrolet Hummer in New Canaan, the dealership has already sold four Volts, including the first in the state to a retired Duracell engineer from Oxford. He opted for a white diamond shade.


Chevrolet Volt takes 3-4 hours to charge at 208-240V.

The Volt will automatically burn off gasoline when it senses it may be getting old.
