Ford's CEO Mulally Launches New Electric Car Era with a Kiss

The Focus Electric, which has a targeted range of 100 miles on a single charge, is Ford's answer to the growing field of electric cars on the market.

LAS VEGAS -- With a kiss on the hood for his company's first electric passenger car, Ford CEO and President Alan Mulally ushered in a new era of electrification for the Dearborn automaker.

Mulally unveiled a production version of the Ford Focus Electric hatchback Friday at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas -- the world's largest consumer technology trade show.

"When it comes to empowering the electric vehicle customer, no one is more committed than Ford," Mulally said in his third consecutive CES keynote address.
