BBC Airing 8-Part Series on Racing Green Alaska-to-Argentina Adventure

16,000 mile trip down the Pan America highway in an electric car took 136 days.

"Racing Green" is the story of how postgraduate engineering students from England developed an electric car and drove it from Alaska to Argentina.

The eight-part BBC series, chronicled by filmmaker Claudio von Planta, starts Jan. 1.

The students, who are in their 20s, began the 16,000-mile trip at Chena Hot Springs on July 1. They reached Argentina in 136 days. They are graduates of Imperial College in London.
