MALTA — George Olivares, technical coordinator for Electrovaya Co., doesn’t mince words when asked about the impact of federal stimulus funds in Saratoga County.

“I’m happy Obama spent the money,” Olivares said. “It has given me a job. It has stopped me from moving.”

Electrovaya, which is located in the Saratoga Technology and Energy Park in Luther Forest, has received a $4.49 million grant through the Energy Department to develop advanced technologies for Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles, or PHEVs, for Chrysler.
