I have driven the future β and itβs strangely silent.
One of the problems with electric cars and motorcycles is that they are quiet β some would say too quiet. The separate cycle lanes of Shanghai are teeming with electric bikes, and they make no more noise than pedal cycles but whiz along much faster. The electric scooters I have ridden are similarly near noiseless β as are the cars.

The notion that electric cars are silent is a myth. There are many modern gasoline cars that have very quiet motors that you can barely hear if you are driving at a slow speed. More noise actually comes from the tires on the road. Tires will also make noise on electric vehicles. Electric motors also make noise, though generally not as much as internal combustion engines.
I can think of several very quiet car models, including many luxury cars, such as BMWs or Lincolns, as well as economy cars, such as the Toyota Celica or Ford Focus.
Intentionally creating noise on electric cars is a ridiculous idea.
