INL - The Idaho National Laboratory has logged 1 million miles in their program that tests the efficiency of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, or PHEVs.
The program is called Advanced Vehicle Testing Activity (AVTA). The goal is to use real-world scenarios using fleet and public drivers to see how well the hybrids’ energy consumption compares to petroleum based vehicles. The tests also try to measure the potential impact the PHEVs have on the electric grid.
