Mitsubishi i MiEV Sport AIR Electric Concept Car to Debut in Geneva

Sport AIR electric car continues design theme first iterated in Tokyo in 2007.

Following on the heels of the positive reception the i MIEV electric car has received worldwide, Mitsubishi is planning to debut yet another electric car based on the i MiEV drive system.

The SPORT AIR concept continues the theme first iterated at the 2007 Tokyo Auto Show. While the i MiEV is based on Mitsubishi's gasoline-engine i, first introduced in early 2007, the Sport shown in Tokyo in October 2007 is a purpose-built electric concept car. The AIR appears from illustrations to be revised design.

ZAP is hoping to keep the MSRP at $30,000 for the Alias three-wheeler pictured here.

Hero Motors Ultra Maxi uses a 250 watt motor to avoid falling into category that would require license fees, road taxes and registration.

The scooters currently come in two models, 1000 and 1500 watts, and retail for NZ$2200 and NZ$2400 including GST. Photo courtesy of Scoop.
