Tanfield Rumored in Electric Truck Deal with Ford

While Ford has officially announced electric version of Ford Transit Connect van, nothing official has been said about UK-based Tanfield's involvement.

ELECTRIC vehicle maker Tanfield looks set to clinch a major deal with Ford, creating a substantial number of jobs, after the car manufacturer announced plans to expand its electric vehicle range in the US.

Ford has dropped its broadest hint yet that it intends to bring Tanfield in as its partner to develop an electric commercial van for the US market.

At the Detroit Motor Show this week, Ford announced plans to bring affordable battery electric vehicles to the US over the next four years.


With seating up of four people who use all the large muscle groups, the car can easily cruise at speeds of up to 20 mph.
