Michigan NiMH Battery Maker Survives Trial by Fire

The lesson plans would be their own personal experience.

Clow and the staff at Harding Energy Inc. in Norton Shores were stunned by a destructive -- but not catastrophic -- fire Aug. 7 in the company's lower level test laboratory. A battery pack being charged caught fire and burned the lab beyond recognition.


Biggest drawback is cost at $2,500USD per kilowatt, about 10% above cost of coal fired plant.
