City of Denver Auctioning Off Hybrid Cars

The city purchased what appear to be early model Prius hybrids for $19,600. They are being sold for more than $10,600 at the public auction.

Denver Public Works was quick to jump on the hybrid band-wagon, and now the city is getting rid of its entire fleet of early model Toyota Prius'. The city is selling the hybrids at public auction.

Many new American cars lose half their value in the first 3 years. The Prius' are 6 and 7 years old and they're still selling for more than 50 percent of their sticker price.

City officials and the mechanics who serviced the cars say they are in great condition.
