AI: After Ratan Tata's dream car Nano, it is now time for another revolution, an electric car.

The electric car, developed by IIT-Bombay, is named 'e-on'.

This is a proto-type of the car which does not require petrol and runs at a speed of 30 km per hour.

"We have been working on this project since one year and now we are ready to run this car on the road," professor of industrial and automobile design Kishor Munshi said. "The speed of the car is kept at a limit of 30 km, but can be increased," he said. Initially, the car will run on the IIT-B campus.

The bikes will make their debut appearance in Ed's new comedy TV show, 'Living with Ed' which broadcasts Sundays at 10pm ET/PT on HGTV.

The scooters top out at a 25mph speed, although the ones on loan to the Sheriff's Department are calibrated to travel no faster than 18mph.

Powered by advanced lithium-ion batteries and two 67bhp (50kW) electric motors to drive the front and rear axles, the Mixim is a four-wheel-drive car with a theoretical top speed of 112mph and a potential maximum range of 156 miles.
