A multi-million-pound venture to build a radical electric motorcycle is to be centred on Birmingham.

Esarati, the company behind it, is hoping to build 5,000 models a year with exports going all over Europe. The venture is expected to lead to the creation of hundreds of jobs.

The new Esarati 300 will have a range of 50 miles and a top speed of 50mph. Because of the low price of charging the machine, riders will be able to cover 1,500 miles for the price of a gallon of petrol.
