SAN FRANCISCO, Jan 28 (Reuters) - With bids for Enron Wind, the wind turbine subsidiary of collapsed energy giant Enron Corp. (ENRNQ.PK) due on Monday, the profitable company was widely expected to soon be sold, probably to European owners.

"The bids are due today. Five companies are in the running," an industry source said, without identifying the companies. He said it would likely take Enron several weeks to identify the final bidders and announce a buyer.

"I've heard a valuation of about $300 million to $700 million, although $300 million to $500 million is probably more realistic," the source said.
