Moscow to Begin Electric Vehicle Experiment

Experiment to begin with eight electric cars and two electric buses.

Experiment with running of freight and passenger electric cars is soon to begin in Moscow. According to the Moscow Government, the resolution on the experiment was signed by Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov. According to the document, eight small-tonnage electric cars and two electric buses of the total worth of RUR40 million will be purchased for the city soon.


Tesla Motors, a four-year-old Silicon Valley start-up, has raised $60 million and spent $25 million developing a two- seat Roadster that will sell for between $85,000 and $100,000.

The plug-in hybrid could provide most all of the benefits of the electric car with few of it disadvantages. Pictured is 1912 Detroit Electric.
