Activists Say U.S., Others Plotting Climate Scam
THE HAGUE (Reuters) - Environmentalists accused a club of rich nations on Thursday of trying to cheat on pledges to fight global warming.
They said wealthy states were trying to evade cuts in greenhouse gas emissions by putting up a fraudulent plan to gain credits for forests or "carbon sinks."
Green groups and human rights campaigners accused the United States, Japan, Canada and Australia of sabotaging U.N. talks aimed at preventing global weather become warmer and deadlier.
