Beijing Airport Light Rail Project on Track

With a total length of 28.1 kilometres, the track will run from Dongzhimen, on the northeast corner of the second ring road which encircles the downtown area, to the Beijing Capital International Airport in northeast Beijing.

BEIJING, Jan 10 (APP): The work on the construction of superstructure of Beijing airport light rail line, a key project for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games will be accomplished in current week.

After completion of the superstructure work, task to lay the tracks will be taken up in the month of March and the project is expected to be ready in April 2008, while trial operations are due in July the same year.

With a total length of 28.1 kilometres, the track will run from Dongzhimen, on the northeast corner of the second ring road which encircles the downtown area, to the Beijing Capital International Airport in northeast Beijing, the state run media reported Wednesday.
