A-Bike Is Sir Clive Sinclair's Latest Innovation

The inventor is unfazed by past failures and believes that his new-fangled bicycle will be a big hit

Published: 13-Jul-2006

SIR CLIVE SINCLAIR introduced his third attempt in 20 years to revolutionise personal transport yesterday. He hopes to eclipse previous failures — the C5 electric tricycle and the Zike electric bicycle — with the A-bike.

A simple test, however, suggested that with his new folding bicycle he has succeeded only in reinventing the wheel.

Sir Clive’s A-bike, a kind of microscooter with pedals, came a distant second in a race against a Brompton, the best-selling folding bicycle that hit the streets 20 year ago.
