Scottish Research Reveals Rapid Climate Change

Temperatures have increased in every season and in all parts of Scotland since 1961, as has rainfall.

The last four decades have seen Scotland undergo its most intensive period of temperature rises, it has emerged.

New research released by the Scottish Executive shows that since 1961, the country has experienced the fastest period of warming since the analysed record began in 1914.

However, the country has also become a lot wetter, according to the study released ahead of Scottish Environment Week at the start of next month.

CO2 emissions information is already required on all new cars in Europe; a 2005 California law mandates similar information be provided on all cars starting in the 2009 model year.
