Mitsubishi To Debut Hybrid Concept Car at Detroit Auto Show

Besides a convertible version of the Eclipse sport coupe Spyder (below), Mitsubishi will also unveil a compact sport-hatchback concept called Concept-CT MIEV powered by a hybrid-electric drivetrain.

ubishi has two world premieres scheduled for next month's Detroit auto show:

  • A convertible version of the Eclipse sport coupe. To be built at Mitsubishi's plant in Normal, Ill., the Eclipse Spyder bows early in 2006 as a 2007 model.

  • A compact sport-hatchback concept called Concept-CT MIEV, with a hybrid-electric drivetrain.

    CT stands for Compact Technology, MIEV for Mitsubishi In-wheel motor Electric Vehicle.
